Basic Information

"Jobshop Machining" represents a small collection of material removal processes. This collection has the capabilities of an average machine shop, with access to a milling machine, a lathe, and a grinder.

Job shops are examples of classical manufacturing systems. They require no automation, although it is possible to implement automated machine shops.

Job shop: functional or process layout.
Routes A, B, and C represent different parts.

Flow chart is adopted from DeGarmo, Black, and Kohser, Materials and Processes in Manufacturing.
