Welcome to the complete listing of all of the processes used by the MAS. Each process is represented by up to ten web pages.* Select a method from the "All Proccess" section to go to that processes' basic info page. The section marked "This Process" will allow you to navigate within a process. Here is a breakdown of the information available in each section:

  • Basic Info - Contains a simple description of the operation of the process, with an accompanying diagram.

  • More Info - A lengthy description of the process, with photographs of the real equipment.

  • Production - Details approximate tooling costs, per part costs, production rates, suitable batch sizes, and setup time.

  • Geometry - Possible shapes, wall thicknesses, sizes, and tolerances.

  • Design Guide - Suggestions for improving the manufacturability of a component that will be made with this process.

  • Sample Parts - Lists of parts commonly made with the process, and illustrations of manufactured goods.

  • Pros / Cons - Lists the benefits and drawbacks of the process, and compares it to similar processes.

  • Variations - Covers variations of the processes that are tailored to different applications.

  • Links - Lists web addresses pertaining to the process for real world vendors, organizations, and miscellaneous resources.
