The MAS provides three different sets of information to aide a designer in preliminary process and material selection:

• Manufacturing Processes - Each of the processes included in the current MAS database has a set of web pages describing the basic operation of the process, production information, suitable geometries, and material compatibility. Some processes also include sample parts, pros/cons, and examples of analysis.
  
  
• Material Descriptions - online help exists to give designers a quick reference for common material uses and noteworthy properties.
  
  
• Facet Explanations - Each of the attributes used by the MAS is described in detail, with representative values for common parts.
  
  
• User Interface Help - Click on the picture of the user interface to get help on any of the MAS functions and components.
